EAGALA presented to the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) National Conference, Friday, October 2, 2009 in Sacramento, California.  This was a 2-hour classroom workshop in which about 30 Marriage and Family Therapists attended.  This was the first time EAGALA has been able to present at this national mental health conference so we were pleased to get accepted!

The title of the workshop was "Equine Assisted Therapy:  Understanding a Growing Modality" presented by Lynn Thomas, LCSW, Co-founder and Executive Director of EAGALA, and Susan Byrne, LMFT and Equine Specialist, EAGALA Certified and founder of In the Presence of Horses in CA. 

We have uploaded on the members only Resources - Business section of this site the materials we used at this conference!

• Proposal which was accepted by this conference in the hopes it helps other EAGALA certified members in writing proposals to present at conferences!  If we can all focus on presenting at conferences in our areas - imagine the awareness and demand we can all create for the power of this work!
• The Powerpoint we used - EAGALA members are welcome to use this powerpoint as a template to create your own, including using the pictures in it - permission is given to use this powerpoint as a template as long as it is being used to present on EAGALA Model work with EAGALA standards.  This powerpoint is obviously focused towards our MFT audience, hence why it is a template to be changed to fit your particular audience.
